Historical Biography & Martial Career

Sultan Orhan Ghazi (رحمه الله) transformed the Ottoman principality from a tribal beylik into a structured, powerful imperial state. Capturing Bursa, Nicaea (Iznik), and Nicomedia (Izmit), he established the first Ottoman mint, university madrasa, and standing regular infantry corps—the famed *Janissaries* (*Yeniçeri*). In 1354 CE, his forces crossed the Dardanelles straits into Gallipoli, planting the Islamic banner permanently on the European continent and initiating the expansion into the Balkans.
