Bahr al-Joud (The Ocean of Generosity), First Child Born in Abyssinia • رضي الله عنه
Son of the martyr Ja'far ibn Abi Talib and Asma bint Umais, born in Abyssinia as the first child of the Muslim emigrants. Upon his father's martyrdom at Mu'tah, the Prophet ﷺ visited his home, wiped his head, and prayed: 'O Allah, bless the family of Ja'far in his offspring, and bless Abdullah in his business transactions.' Known across the Arab world as the pinnacle of hospitality and benevolence.
“Abdullah ibn Ja'far reported: 'Whenever the Messenger of Allah ﷺ returned from a journey, he would be met by the young boys of his household; he met me first, lifted me and placed me in front of him on his mount.'”
