The sixth person to accept Islam and the first to publicly recite the Holy Qur'an aloud before the Quraysh in Makkah. He was the personal attendant and confidant of the Prophet ﷺ, a veteran of Badr, and the foundational jurist whose legal opinions shaped the school of Kufa.
