Mu'adhdhin Rasulillah, Deputy Governor of Madinah in 13 Campaigns • رضي الله عنه
Maternal cousin of Khadijah bint Khuwaylid and an early believer in Makkah whose earnest request for Qur'anic teaching was the occasion of revelation for Surah 'Abasa. Despite his blindness, he served alongside Bilal as regular Mu'adhdhin and was left by the Prophet ﷺ as acting governor of Madinah during 13 military expeditions.
