The Resolute Preacher of Bahilah, Last Surviving Sahabi in Syria • رضي الله عنه
Dispatched by the Prophet ﷺ as an envoy to his idolatrous tribe; when they refused him hospitality and water until he fell asleep thirsty, an angel brought him a vessel of sweet milk in a vision, after which his entire tribe embraced Islam. Participated in the Pledge of the Tree (Bay'at al-Ridwan) and was the last surviving companion in Syria.
“Abu Umamah reported that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'I guarantee a house on the outskirts of Paradise for whoever abandons arguing even if he is right, and a house in the middle of Paradise for whoever abandons lying even when joking, and a house in the highest part of Paradise for whoever has good character.'”
