Disciple of the Messenger of Allah (Hawariyy Rasulillah) • رضي الله عنه
One of the Ten Promised Paradise, cousin of the Prophet ﷺ (son of Safiyyah bint Abd al-Muttalib), and husband of Asma bint Abi Bakr. He was the first to draw his sword in Islam and was personally designated by the Prophet ﷺ as his Hawariyy (Disciple).
“The Prophet ﷺ said: 'Indeed, for every Prophet there is a disciple, and my disciple is Al-Zubayr.'”
“On the day of the Battle of the Trench, the Prophet ﷺ gathered both his parents for him, saying: 'May my father and mother be sacrificed for you, O Zubayr!'”
