The Faithful Few Who Overcame the Mighty Host • رضوان الله عليهم
The small, disciplined band of believers who crossed the river under King Talut with Dawud ﷺ in their ranks. Facing Goliath (Jalut) and his army, they proclaimed faith in Allah's promise that a small company can vanquish a large army by Allah's leave.
قَالَ الَّذِينَ يَظُنُّونَ أَنَّهُم مُّلَاقُو اللَّهِ كَم مِّن فِئَةٍ قَلِيلَةٍ غَلَبَتْ فِئَةً كَثِيرَةً بِإِذْنِ اللَّهِ ۗ وَاللَّهُ مَعَ الصَّابِرِينَ
“Those who were certain that they would meet Allah said, 'How many a small company has overcome a large company by permission of Allah. And Allah is with the patient.'”
