Mu'adhin of the Messenger of Allah, Sayyiduna Bilal • رضي الله عنه
Endured severe torture in the searing sands of Makkah while chanting 'Ahad, Ahad' (Allah is One). Emancipated by Abu Bakr, he became the first Mu'adhin of Islam and called the Adhan from atop the Ka'bah upon the conquest of Makkah.
