Sayfullah al-Maslul (The Drawn Sword of Allah) • رضي الله عنه
One of the greatest military commanders in world history. Undefeated in over fifty battles, he accepted Islam prior to the conquest of Makkah and orchestrated historic victories at Mu'tah, Yarmuk, and the opening of Iraq and Syria.
“The Prophet ﷺ eulogized the commanders of Mu'tah, then said: 'Then the banner was taken by a sword from among the swords of Allah, until Allah granted victory through his hands.' From that day, Khalid was named Sayfullah.”
