Safir al-Islam (The Ambassador of Islam), Mus'ab al-Khayr • رضي الله عنه
Renowned as the most pampered and elegant youth in Makkah who renounced immense wealth and aristocratic luxury to embrace Islam. Appointed by the Prophet ﷺ as the first teacher and diplomatic envoy to Yathrib (Madinah), leading to the conversion of the city's chiefs. Carried the Muslim standard at Uhud until he was martyred.
“Khabbab narrated: 'Mus'ab ibn Umayr was martyred at Uhud and had only a single woolen cloak to shroud him. If we covered his head, his feet showed, and if we covered his feet, his head showed. The Prophet ﷺ told us to cover his head and place Idhkhir grass over his feet.'”
