The supreme chieftain of Banu Aws who accepted Islam at the hands of Mus'ab ibn Umayr, bringing his entire clan to the faith in a single day. Famously pledged unconditional devotion to the Prophet ﷺ before Badr. Fatally wounded at the Battle of the Trench; his death caused the Throne of the All-Merciful to shake.
