Khatib Rasulillah (The Orator of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ) • رضي الله عنه
Possessor of a thunderous, eloquent voice chosen by the Prophet ﷺ to speak on behalf of Islam before incoming tribal delegations. When Surah Al-Hujurat (49:2) warned against raising voices above the Prophet's, Thabit wept at home fearing his deeds were voided; the Prophet ﷺ sent for him and gave him tidings: 'You will live praised, die a martyr, and enter Paradise.'
“When 49:2 was revealed, Thabit stayed in his house weeping. The Prophet ﷺ inquired and said: 'He is not of the people of Fire; rather he is of the people of Paradise, he will live praised and be martyred.'”
