Fata Musa (The Faithful Youth Companion of Moses) • عليه السلام
The steadfast young companion who accompanied Prophet Musa ﷺ on his journey to the junction of the two seas to meet Al-Khidr. Following the passing of Musa and Harun, Allah appointed him prophet to lead the righteous believers into the Holy Land.
وَإِذْ قَالَ مُوسَىٰ لِفَتَاهُ لَا أَبْرَحُ حَتَّىٰ أَبْلُغَ مَجْمَعَ الْبَحْرَيْنِ أَوْ أَمْضِيَ حُقُبًا
“And [mention] when Moses said to his young companion, 'I will not cease [traveling] until I reach the junction of the two seas or continue for a long period.'”
“Ubayy ibn Ka'b reported from the Prophet ﷺ that the 'fata' (young companion) mentioned in Surah Al-Kahf was explicitly Yusha' ibn Nun.”
“The Prophet ﷺ narrated that the sun was detained for no human being except for Yusha' ibn Nun when he marched to conquer the Holy Sanctuary.”
