Jami' al-Qur'an (The Compiler of the Qur'an), Master of Inheritance • رضي الله عنه
Orphaned in the Battle of Bu'ath and brought to the Prophet ﷺ as a gifted boy of eleven who had memorized dozens of Surahs. Commanded by the Prophet ﷺ to learn Syriac and Hebrew scripts, which he mastered in weeks. Chosen by Abu Bakr and Uthman to head the monumental commissions compiling the Holy Qur'an into the definitive Mushaf.
“Abu Bakr said to Zayd: 'You are a wise young man, and we do not suspect you of anything, and you used to write down the revelation for the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. So search for the Qur'an and collect it.'”
