Islamic History Explorer represents historical dates, geography, and biographical details strictly according to authentic evidence. Dates marked as APPROXIMATE or UNKNOWN are left unforced to prevent artificial certainty.
“Exact chronological dates for Ibrahim's life are estimated by modern historians to lie between 2000 BCE and 1800 BCE, but cannot be definitively confirmed through textual Islamic scripture alone.”
Prophet Ibrahim ﷺ stands as the paragon of steadfast monotheism (hanifiyyah) across human history. Born in Mesopotamia, he confronted his people's idol and celestial worship through keen rational discourse. Cast into a raging fire by Nimrod's court, Allah commanded the fire: 'O fire, be coolness and safety upon Abraham.' He journeyed across the fertile crescent to the Levant, Egypt, and the valley of Makkah. In Makkah, alongside his elder son Ismail, he raised the foundations of the Ka'bah and instituted the rites of Hajj.
