Prophet Ismail ﷺ was the firstborn son of Ibrahim ﷺ through Hajar. As an infant, he and his mother were settled in the waterless valley of Makkah by divine order, where the miraculous well of Zamzam gushed forth. When commanded in a dream to sacrifice his beloved son, Ibrahim conveyed the vision to Ismail, who famously answered: 'O my father, do as you are commanded. You will find me, if Allah wills, of the steadfast.' Allah ransomed him with a momentous sacrifice. Ismail married into the Jurhum tribe and with Ibrahim raised the Ka'bah.
