معركة نهاوند (فتح الفتوح)
30,000 veterans under Al-Nu'man — Sasanian emperor Yazdegerd III gathered the ultimate army from Khorasan, Media, and Sistan.
Heavy losses including commander Al-Nu'man ibn Muqarrin
100,000–150,000 Persian imperial forces in fortified mountain positions
Over 50,000 Persian troops slain including Firuzan
The Persians barricaded themselves behind deep trenches with caltrops (iron spikes). Al-Nu'man feigned a false retreat through Tulayha's scouting advice. Thinking the Muslims were fleeing, the Persians surged forward in pursuit. Al-Nu'man launched a ferocious general assault on Friday afternoon after prayers. Though Nu'man was mortally wounded, his brother wrapped him in his cloak, Hudhayfah took the flag, and the Muslims routed the enemy.
Tulayha's skirmishers lured the imperial forces out of their fortified caltrop trenches.
Waiting for the sun to pass the meridian, Al-Nu'man charged on the third Takbir.
Hudhayfah concealed Nu'man's martyrdom and completed the total rout of the Persian coalition.
Yazdegerd III became a fugitive; the entire Iranian plateau opened to the message of Islam; Sasanian dynasty ceased to exist.
Chronicle of why this battle was christened 'Fath al-Futuh' because no empire-wide battle followed it.
Umar weeping in Madinah upon receiving the news of the victory accompanied by Nu'man's martyrdom.
معركة اليمامة (عقرباء / حديقة الموت)
Shattered the greatest false prophet rebellion; directly prompted Caliph Abu Bakr (RA) to compile the Holy Qur'an into a single Mushaf.
معركة اليرموك الخالدة
One of the most decisive battles in military history; permanently liberated the entire Levant and Syria from Byzantine control.
معركة القادسية الكبرى
Total destruction of the Sasanian Persian army in Iraq; opening Ctesiphon (Al-Mada'in) and all Mesopotamia to Islamic justice.
