The Prophet ﷺ marched from Madinah leaving Sa'd ibn Ubadah in charge. Upon reaching Waddan, the chieftain Makhshi sued for a peace covenant, agreeing that Banu Damrah would never ally against the Muslims nor harbor enemies.
The Prophet ﷺ set out with 70 early Emigrants (Muhajirun) to intercept trade pressure.
Peaceful negotiations resulting in the historic written mutual security pact.
